DPWH Regional Office 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary Eugenio R. Pipo Jr., disclosed that construction for its Package 4 has already commenced, with an allocation of P250 million from the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

“We have received funding annually for the Ilocos Sur segment of Cervantes-Besao-Sagada Road since 2020, hence its implementation is right on track. If this continues, and good weather persists, we will be able utilize this segment by 2026, if not by the end of 2025,” said Director Tan.

The Quirino, Ilocos Sur segment of Cervantes-Besao-Sagada Road Project implemented by the DPWH Regional Office covers the construction of a 2-lane road from Barangay Patungcaleo to Barangay Patiacan with a length of 11.96 kilometers. The project includes Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP), drainage, slope protection, and road safety facilities.
