
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar has announced the recent completion of concrete paving works along three (3) local roads in the towns of Alicia, Cabatuan, and San Mateo in Isabela Province.
Roads completed under the implementation of Isabela 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) includes the 493.5-linear meter Mataas na Kahoy-St. Domingo Local Road in Alicia; 734.5-linear meter Barangay La Paz Road in Cabatuan; and, 899.3-linear meter Malasin-Salinungan West Farm Market Road in San Mateo.
According to Secretary Villar, these improved roads now bring a number of benefits to its recipient communities providing solutions to each of the town’s top-most needs.
The completed connector roads among barangays facilitate faster and more convenient transport of farm products to market centers.
The roads also provide easier access to essential establishments such as local businesses, schools, and hospitals, proving how road infrastructure can be vital in the midst of a pandemic.
Both funded under the Local Infrastructure Program – Local Roads and Bridges of DPWH, Mataas na Kahoy-St. Domingo Local Road in Alicia and Barangay La Paz’ Road in Cabatuan were completed in the amount of P3.24 million and P4 million, respectively.
On the under hand, the P12 million Malasin-Salinungan West Farm Market Road in San Mateo was funded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) through its convergence program with DPWH.
