
A total of P96.5 million has been poured out by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Leyte Second District Engineering Office for a road concreting project leading to Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park in Brgy. Mahagnao, Burauen, Leyte.
The 1.6 kilometers road concreting involves 823.7 linear meters of drainage canal and 1,846.2 cubic meters of stone masonry.
“This road concreting project is essential to attract more tourists to visit our region and experience the natural beauty of our environment,” said District Engineer Gerald Pacanan.
Pacanan added that the project will also be beneficial to the locales of Brgy. Mahagnao as this would provide them convenience in their transportation of goods to and from the town proper.
Located about 66 kilometers away from Tacloban City, the Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park has an area of 635 hectare land area and is abounded by natural wonders, including a dormant volcano, a freshwater and an acidic lake, waterfalls, hot springs and a diversity of flora and fauna.
