DPWH R4A conducts free kidney and prostate screening

Monday, June 4, 2018

To celebrate the 120th Anniversary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Regional Office No. IV-A, in partnership with the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists (PAMS) Foundation, conducted a free kidney and prostrate ultrasound screening on June 4, 2018.

The said free screening and ultrasound process was conducted at the Regional office-Training Room A and was open not only to DPWH employees but also to their family members.

PAMS Foundation is a non-stock, no-profit organization, and its goal is to provide an avenue for medical services, information dissemination regarding medical practices, continuing medical education, trainings and research.

The cost of the screening can be expensive especially for private medical institutions but because of the advocacies of PAMS on free medical missions, the service was graciously shared to the employees of the Region.

A total of 149 participants have undergone the ultrasound screening process. It was also very convenient as the screening result was given to the recipients the same day.

This event marked another medical effort of DPWH to keep track on and provide services related to its employee’s health and welfare.
