Japan hands over new equipment for Marawi City

The Japanese government through Ambassador Koji Haneda has turned over twenty-seven (27) sets of brand new heavy equipment to Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea representing the Office of the President and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar, Vice-Chairman of the Task Force Bangon Marawi, for use in the government’s rehabilitation program of Marawi City.

DPWH graces opening of 23rd WORLDBEX

The 23rd Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition (WORLDBEX) formally opens today at World Trade Center with Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut representing Secretary Mark A. Villar delivering the keynote address.

In his speech, Undersecretary Yabut highlighted the sustained interest of major key players in the building and construction industry brought about by the government's massive infrastructure thrust.

New K-12 building rises in Baggao

The Department of Public Works and Highways – Cagayan First District Engineering Office (DPWH-CFDEO) has completed its school building project amounting to ₱8,036,909.54 at Hacienda Intal National High School, Baggao, Cagayan.

According to District Engineer Rosauro R. Guerrero, the new two-storey school building is intended for the students under K-12 program.

“This building contains six classrooms with an an area of 7m x 9m providing a conducive learning environment for the students,” Guerrero said.

DPWH- Cagayan Third District Engineering Office ranks 4th nationwide to achieve 2-Star Rating

Another feather has been added to the cap of accomplishments of the Department of Public Works and Highways – Cagayan Third District Engineering Office (DPWH-CTDEO) with its Materials Testing Laboratory bagging a two-star rating from the DPWH Central Office -Bureau of Research and Standards.

The DEO’s testing laboratory has satisfactorily met the requirement on the physical layout plan and the upgrading of its existing laboratory, materials, and apparatuses specifically in the areas of asphalt and cement testing.

DPWH completes Flood Control System in Iguig, Cagayan

The Department of Public Works and Highways – Cagayan Third District Engineering Office (DPWH-CTDEO) completed the construction of a ₱75-million Flood Control System in Barangay San Vicente, Iguig, Cagayan.

According to District Engineer Danilo U. Tabilas, the flood control system was designed to preserve the river banks of Cagayan River in order to safeguard lives, properties, and sources of living of the locals in the area.

“It provides security to communities from floods during heavy rains and typhoons,” he added.

6-km Laguna Lake Highway now open

A total of 6-kilometer portion of Laguna Lake Highway eastbound from ML Quezon Avenue to Napindan Bridge in Taguig City is now serviceable to the public.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar has opened today, March 12, 2018 an additional 1.5- kilometer at the eastbound of the highway starting at Hagonoy Flood Gate to ML Quezon Avenue.

Present at the opening of the highway project are Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, Department of Budget and Management Secretary Benjamin Diokno, and Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano.

DPWH undertakes repair works on 7 roads in QC and Taguig City

The Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake road repair works in the cities of Quezon and Taguig this weekend.

According to DPWH-NCR Director Melvin B. Navarro, the road works will start 11PM Friday, March 10, 2018 and end 5AM Monday, March 12, 2018 covering seven (7) road sections with a total area of 3,020.15 square meters.
