DPWH to start P193.5-M Roxas Bypass Road in Isabela in Q1

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), following consultative meetings with affected stakeholders, will commence the construction of Roxas Bypass Road Project in Isabela province before the end of this quarter.

DPWH Region 2 Director Melanio C. Briosos said the project which will be a 4.95-kilometer alternative road to the busy Santiago-Tugeugarao Road, starting from Barangay San Antonio to Barangay Nuesa and traversing Barangays San Rafael, Facoma, and Bantug.

DPWH constructs P80-M flood control structure in Calbayog City, Samar

To spare residents and properties from the dangers of flood, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be constructing a retaining wall along Tinambacan River in Calbayog City, Samar.

In his report to Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH-Samar First District Engineering Office (DEO) Chief Alvin A. Ignacio said an P80-million flood control project measuring 634 lineal meters will be constructed this year to help decrease water levels rising in the low-lying areas of the city brought by overflowing of Tinambacan River.

Fishermen in Cardona, Rizal can now easily navigate along waterways that were cleared from hyacinth by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH CALABARZON Director Samson L. Hebra said water hyacinths that have long clogged river of Cardona and halted fishing activities were removed using backhoes of the DPWH Bureau of Equipment (BOE).

Six (6) new heavy equipment and one (1) lane marker remover were deployed to Region 12 to augment workforce as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) pours bulk of infrastructure projects in Mindanao.

DPWH SOCCSKSARGEN Director Basir M. Ibrahim said the P16 million worth equipment will support the Build, Build, Build program in the entire region that received a total of 779 roads, bridge, and other infrastructure projects this year from DPWH.

Japan hands over new equipment for Marawi City

The Japanese government through Ambassador Koji Haneda has turned over twenty-seven (27) sets of brand new heavy equipment to Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea representing the Office of the President and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar, Vice-Chairman of the Task Force Bangon Marawi, for use in the government’s rehabilitation program of Marawi City.
