DPWH to build wider, pedestrian-friendly roads, better drainage in Boracay

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will complete the gaps of Boracay Circumferential Road, build better drainage of Boracay during its 6-month closure and rehabilitation.

This was disclosed by DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar who personally led the team of DPWH maintenance personnel during the first day of rehabilitation being implemented in coordination with other government agencies like the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Department of Tourism.

DPWH builds 5 new school building facilities in Ormoc for upcoming school year

In anticipation of the influx of new students for the academic year 2018-2019, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing five (5) new school building facilities in Ormoc City, Leyte province.

DPWH Region 8 Director Edgar B. Tabacon said that the DPWH in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) is constructing the school buildings through the use of the Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) amounting to P10-million.

New coastal road leading to Antique’s San Jose Port underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently paving a coastal road that is seen to enhance tourism industry and promote socio-economic activity in the town of San Jose, Antique province.

DPWH Region 6 Assistant Regional Director Jose Al V. Fruto said the 8-kilometer coastal road project which starts from Barangay Comon to Barangay San Pedro, San Jose de Buenavista and leads to San Jose Port is now ongoing, having received a total of P330 million from 2017 and 2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
