DPWH Kicks Off Ease of Doing Business Month-Long Celebration

Monday, May 5, 2025

Following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s declaration in March 2025 under Proclamation No. 818 on the observance of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month in May of every year, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) joins the celebration in a program after the flag raising ceremony on May 5, 2025.

The EODB month-long initiative aims to promote a whole-of-government approach in reinforcing key government services through a series of programs and activities, in collaboration with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), and government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs).

In her short message, DPWH Undersecretary for Support Services Marichu A. Palafox, Chairperson of DPWH Anti-Red Tape Team (DARTT), highlighted the agency’s commitment to efficient, transparent, and high-quality government service, focused on building a people-centered public service under the Bagong Pilipinas.

“Let us prove that in DPWH, we don’t just build infrastructure. We also build trust and progress, transforming red tape into a red carpet toward better business movement in Bagong Pilipinas,” Undersecretary Palafox said.

In October 2024, DPWH was recognized by the ARTA through the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, with a Silver Award for the “Very Satisfactory” rating in the 2023 ARTA Report Card Survey (RCS) 2.0.

Under the leadership of Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH has remained committed to delivering quality infrastructure facilities and public works, maintaining the highest standards of public service for the Filipino people.
