A bypass road project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now facilitates better connectivity between local communities in Zamboanga City.
DPWH Region IX Director Cayamombao D. Dia identified the project as the concrete paving of the 569.7-meter NRJ Boalan-Tugbungan Diversion Road.
The 4-lane concrete road now better connects the Barangays of Boalan and Tugbungan with reduced travel time of approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
Besides providing a quicker route going to and from the two (2) barangays, the upgraded road is also expected to spur economic activities in the locality as it provides ease of access to essential services and other neighboring communities.
Other construction activities on the P42 million project include 6.7 meters of carriageway and 2.5 meters of shoulder on both sides of the road.
The bypass road project was implemented by Zamboanga City District Engineering Office.
