The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now implementing the final phase of civil works to complete a school building project in Navotas Polytechnic College in Navotas City.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH National Capital Region Loreta M. Malaluan, said that the 6th phase of the project which is being implemented by the DPWH Malabon-Navotas District Engineering Office (DEO) is targeted for completion by the first quarter of 2025.

When completed, the new building facility will be able to house additional classrooms, an audio-visual room, a new Registrar’s Office, an Administration Office, and computer and speech laboratories.

It will also have PWD-friendly toilets, comfort rooms, storage, a gym, volleyball/badminton court, locker, and shower rooms, and open space for special school events and activities. The facility will also have a medical and dental clinic, canteen, and electrical room, security office, car and motorcycle parking.

In addition, the building will have an elevator system that would connect all floors to ensure accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges and enhance the overall usability of the building.

“This new facility is designed to provide a conducive learning environment and to benefit the present and future generation of students in Navotas City,” said Secretary Bonoan.

The Navotas Polytechnic College Building Project commenced construction in 2021 and has received a total allocation of 589.64 million from 2021 to 2024 General Appropriations Act.
