A newly-constructed two (2)-storey school building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will benefit an estimated number of 160 students in Tipanoy Elementary School, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.

Based on a report received by Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan from DPWH Region 10 Director Zenaida T. Tan, the new school building was designed to have four (4) spacious classrooms, enough to provide primary education students a conducive environment for learning.

With a total floor area of 437 square meters, the project involves the provision of comfort rooms, an accessibility ramp, a septic vault, electrical works, and safety features such as a fire alarm system, fire extinguishers, and a closed-circuit television (CCTV).

“Construction of the school building was finished in March and is ready to accommodate the expected influx of students by the time classes start on July 29,” said Director Tan.

Implemented by DPWH Iligan City District Engineering Office, the project received a budget allocation of ₱12.83 million from the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) in the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
