
The construction of a 12-storey building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at the Cavite State University-Bacoor City Campus in Barangay Molino 3, Bacoor City, Cavite formally commenced with a ceremonial groundbreaking event on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
The new building project is set to play a pivotal role in advancing education in Bacoor City, providing state-of-the-art facilities for the students and staff of Cavite State University.
DPWH Undersecretary Roberto R. Bernardo, representing DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the project is more than just constructing a learning facility; it is about laying the foundation for an institution that will produce some of the country’s finest professionals in the years to come.
He expressed sincere appreciation to the City Government of Bacoor, its officials and staff, and the management of Cavite State University-Bacoor Campus, emphasizing the project’s significance and the strong community support it has received.
Notable attendees in the groundbreaking event includes Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla, AGIMAT Partylist Representative Bryan B. Revilla, Bacoor City Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista-Mendiola, DPWH Region IV-A Assistant Regional Director Isidro O. Encarnacion, DPWH Cavite 3rd DEO Assistant District Engineer Jennifer F. Almanzor, Department of Science and Technology - Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) representative Ms. Athena Chavez, and Cavite State University Vice President for Research and Extension Dr. Melbourne Talactac.
Dr. Almira Magcawas, Vice President of Cavite State University for Planning and Development, extended warm greetings and gratitude on behalf of Cavite State University President Dr. Hernando D. Robles. She acknowledged the contributions of all guests and stakeholders involved in the project.
This major educational infrastructure project will encompass a total floor area of 40,000 square meters.
It aims to accommodate the growing student population and enhance the university's educational facilities with modern amenities, including a basement, recreational areas, and a school terminal, designed to support both academic and extracurricular activities.
