
The Department of Public Works and Highways identified nine (9) national road sections that are currently impassable in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Regions 1, 2, and 6 due to Typhoon ‘Goring’.
Based on the 12:00 noon, August 29, 2023 report of the DPWH Bureau of Maintenance, the affected road sections are as follows:
CAR
1) Claveria-Calanasan-Kabugao Road in Brgy. Ferdinand,Calanasan (Bayag), Apayao due to landslide;
2) Cong. Andres Acop Colasan Road, Sebang, Buguias,Benguet due to rock/slope collapse;
3) Dantay Sagada Road, Brgy. Antadao, Sagada, Mt.Province due to roadcut/collapsed pavement
4) Baguio-Bontoc Road, Brgy. Sinto, Bauko, Mt.Province due to roadcut/collapsed pavement, rock/slope collapse;
Region 1
1) Roxas Bridge, Vigan-San Vicente Road, Ilocos Sur due to scoured bridge abutment;
Region 2
1) Cabagan-Sta. Maria Road, Cabagan-Sta, Maria Overflow Bridge, Sta. Maria - Cabagan, Isabela to high water elevation;
2) Gadu-Carilucud Nabbotuan-Palao-Macutay Road, Carilucud Detour Bridge, Solana, Cagayan due to washed out detour road;
Region 6
1) Iloilo-Antique Road, Paliwan Bridge, Brgy. Cubay North Bugasong, Brgy, Lugta, Laua-an, Laua-an, Antique due to flooding/high water elevation; and
2) Iloilo-Antique Road, Brgy. Quianan, San Joaquin,Iloilo due to landslide and mudflow
Meanwhile, two (2) roads in Regions 1 and 4A have limited access namely:
1) Bantay-Vigan Road, Vigan Bridge 1 and 2 in Brgy. 1, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur due to damaged abutment protection and bridge approach; and the
2) Nasugbu-Lian-Calatagan Road in Brgy. Putting Kahoy, Lian, Batangas due to scoured shoulder and roadcut/collapsed pavement.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes while clearing operations are ongoing.
