A total of P230 million worth of road upgrading project is currently implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office XII at Magpet, North Cotabato.
Two (2) road projects along Magpet- Nowa- Doruluman – Greenfield Road will pave a total of 10.798 kilometers of gravelled national secondary road. One is the upgrading of the 3.68km road in Barangay Basak and another in Barangay Badiangon paving a 7.16km road.
In a press interview last Monday, Regional Director Reynaldo S. Tamayo explained that said road upgrading project is very important since it will serve as an alternate route from Kidapawan City to nearby municipalities of Paco, Roxas, Matalam and Kabacan, as well as Digos, Bansalan and Davao City in Region XI.
“Farmers and entrepreneurs will enjoy shorter travel time and more convenient transportation produce and goods. Government services will be delivered on time to the once “remote area”. If there will be no problem at the project site, these projects will be completed earlier than the scheduled date. We are looking forward to more road upgrading projects to be undertaken in these areas as DPWH aims to achieve total connectivity in the region,” he disclosed.
As of the July 15 Accomplishment Report of DPWH Region XII - Monitoring Unit, the projects have accomplished 46.95% in Barangay Basak and 45.54% in Barangat Badiangon, way advanced by 10% against the expected construction output.
