For exemplary performance and contribution to the province of Davao del Norte DPWH-11 District Engineer Fernando S. Ongkingco Jr. was commended by the League of Municipalities and Cities of the Philippines, Davao del Norte Chapter on July 19, 2013.
Engr. Ongkingco, prior to his transfer to Davao City was DPWH district engineer in the province of Davao del Norte for 14 years. He was instrumental in the successful delivery of thousands of DPWH infra projects in that province. In the league’s Resolution No. 003, passed by 8 municipal mayors of the province Engr. Ongkingco was heaped with praises by a grateful province who appreciated his being an effective bridge in bringing the local projects and assisting requests to the national government to ensure funding and prompt implementation. He is also credited for having established good working rapport among the local chief executive s and the LGU engineers of the province.
Not only for the numerous infra projects that he successfully delivered to the province but also for being instrumental in establishing goodwill between the people of Davao del Norte and the DPWH organization is one lasting legacy that Ongkingco etched in the history of the province. He has been a pillar of the economic development of the province due to his numerous accomplishments and his unswerving support to the total effort at improving the quality of the life of the people.
Engr. Ongkingco or “Boy” to close friends is not only well liked but also highly esteemed in the province not only for his professionalism but also for his fair and honest dealings with peers, associates and employees of the district office.
He is now the District Engineer of the DPWH-11 Davao City District Engineering Office at L. Ma. Guerrero St., Davao City. He traded position with DE Lorna T. Ricardo last July 29, 2013. Davao City residents are looking forward to the same or even more leadership from Egnr. Ongkingco.
