The Phase 2 of the Iloilo Convention Center (ICC) with the allocation of P200.0 Million is finally underway after being stalled by a series of failed biddings. The Phase 2 primarily involves finishing works related to power, water and glass fixtures, and the installation of two escalators and three elevators.

Following a successful bidding and post-bid evaluation, the project was awarded to Hilmarc’s Construction Corporation with the contract amount of P185,672,122.62. Hilmarc’s Construction Corporation was also the contractor in the Phase 1 of the same project which was allocated P500.0 Million.

The project, which commenced February this year, is expected to be completed this July following the 150-day contract duration.

According to DPWH 6 Regional Director Edilberto D. Tayao, ICC will be completed in time for the two ministerial meetings of the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) Summit which the Philippines is hosting in Iloilo on September and October.

ICC is located at the 1.7-hectare lot donated by Megaworld Corporation at the Iloilo Business Park, the fast rising economic community in Mandurriao district here in Iloilo City.
