The national government thru the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is pursuing the construction of flood walls in flood prone areas to combat flooding within and outside of Metro Manila. In the inspection conducted by Secretary Rogelio L. Singson with District Engineer Ramiro M. Cruz (at left) of Bulacan Second Engineering District Office at the on-going construction of flood control wall along Palasan River in Obando, Bulacan, Barangay Chairman Benedicto Sta. Ana (at right) conveyed on behalf of over two-thousand residents of Barangay Hulo the anticipated impact of this flood mitigation structure in alleviating their prolonged suffering from flooding by preventing entry of floodwaters during high tide and heavy rains as well as protection from storm surges.
