DPWH 6 Set for Undas 2016

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar ordered the Regional Directors and District Engineers all over the country to activate the annual “Lakbay-Alalay” program for the forthcoming observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

Through a memorandum, Villar directed the regional and district heads to create a composite team, including an anchorman, that will aid the traveling public on strategic locations in their respective jurisdictions from at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon on October 28 until 12:00 noon of November 2, 2016.

In Region VI, Regional Director Wenceslao M. Leaño instructed the District Engineers to ensure that proper signage and warning signs are provided on all on-going construction projects in their respective areas of jurisdictions.

Leaño guaranteed that traffic advisory for alternate routes by-passing traffic congested areas and road sections with on-going construction activities will be installed with specific entry and exit points and corresponding distances.

The DPWH crew is also tasked to coordinate with other concerned entities such as the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine National Police (PNP) and officials of the Local Government Units (LGUs) to provided necessary assistance.
