The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI celebrated the observance of 2018 Women’s Month with Zumba and a Symposium on Magna Carta for Women.
The employees kicked started the celebration with a Zumba activity followed by a knowledge enrichment symposium about empowerment of women in becoming an advocate of change.
The Women’s Month 2018’s theme: “We make change work for women” emphasizes the significance of the implementation of the Magna Carta for Women in ensuring that women will not be left behind in the pursuit of change, both in social activities or in work.
By virtue of Republic Act 6949 series of 1990, March 8 of every year is declared as National Women’s Day, and a Proclamation No. 227 series of 1998 for the observance of March as Women’s Role in History Month.
