To support the flood fighting activity of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), eight (8) new mobile drainage pumps were handed-over to the Government of the Philippines by the Government of Japan under the Grant Aid Program for the Project for the Improvement of Equipment for Disaster Risk Management in the Philippines. Mounted on each truck are Japan manufactured mobile drainage pump capable of draining water ten (10) times more than ordinary fire engine, built-in standby generator set, hose and other accessories. The Japan donated equipments received by DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson from Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Toshinao Urabe were distributed to DPWH Regions 3, 4-A, 7, 8, 11, 13 and National Capital Region for emergency responding to flooding situations in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Southern Tagalog, Central and Eastern Visayas, Southern Mindanao and Caraga.
