DPWH Completes 4-Storey School Building in Capiz in time for 2017 Brigada Eskwela Launch

The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed a four (4)-storey, 32-classroom school building project at Panit-an National High School in Capiz.

DPWH completion of this new school building is just in time for the kick-off of the Department of Education’s 2017 Brigada Eskwela National Schools’ Maintenance Week from May 15 to 20, 2017 to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the School Year 2017-2018 this June.

The project costing P44.381 Million taken from DepEd’s CY 2016 Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) was implemented by DPWH Capiz First District Engineering Office.

In his report, DPWH Capiz 1st District Engineer Gerald A. Pacanan said that the completed schoolbuilding will benefit about 500 incoming Grade 11 and Grade 12 students from different barangays in the town of Panit-an under the Senior High School program.

DPWH has also completed the construction of two (2) school buildings that can accommodate 1,300 Grade 11 and 12 students at Hiponia National High School in the town of Pontevedra – a three (3)-Storey, 18 classroom building costing P32.214 Million and another three (3)-Storey, 9 classroom building in the amount of P16.186 million, added Pacanan.

More schoolbuilding projects started late 2016 and early 2017 are soon to be completed by various DPWH district implementing office nationwide.

DPWH skilled personnel from District Engineering Offices are also involved in the Brigada Eskwela activities geared on making schools ecologically conscious, resilient, clean and conducive to learning.
