DPWH RO 3 conducts dredging works at Digmala River

Body: 

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office III has conducted river desilting or dredging at Digmala River in the town of Bongabon, Nueva Ecija.

DPWH Bureau of Equipment (DPWH-BOE) Director Toribio Noel L. Ilao visited the project site a day after the onslaught of Typhoon “Ompong” to check and secure the dredging operations in the river.

Binondo-Intramuros Bridge Project moves with bored pile work of abutment

Part of the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administration’s Metro Manila Logistics Improvement Network project, construction of Binondo-Intramuros Bridge connecting Solana Street and Riverside Drive in Intramuros with San Fernando Street in Binondo, Manila get started with the drilling for first bored pile at down ramp section near Maestranza Park.

The 710-meter bridge will have four lanes and will exhibit a steel bowstring arch design with inclined arches.

DPWH to resume repair on EDSA and 2 other roads this weekend

The Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH – NCR) will resume reblocking and repair activities along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Circumferential Road 5 (C-5 Road) and Batasan Road starting 11 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at until 5 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2018.

According to DPWH – NCR Director Melvin B. Navarro, the affected roads in EDSA include the southbound direction from after Eugenio Lopez to before Scout Borromeo Street, beside MRT line and at the northbound direction from beside Trinoma Mall, 6th lane from center island.

More Regional and District Engineering Offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are now utilizing latest drone technology to boost data gathering and planning capabilities.

Earlier this year, DPWH Southern Leyte District Engineering Office (DPWH – SLDEO) acquired a drone equipment that now improves the accuracy of data gathering, especially on investigation of inaccessible sites and infrastructure inspections used in project planning.

DPWH eyes completion of 5 infra projects in Leyte by 2019

Body: 

Five major infrastructure projects in Leyte are expected to be completed and fully operational by 2019 to provide more opportunities for tourism and growth.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), one of these projects is the Mahaplag-Hilongos Road connecting the municipalities of Mahaplag and Hilongos.

A total of P260 million is allocated for the project that started on February 2018 and is expected to be complete by July 2019.

By 2019, residents of Tacloban and Palo in the province of Leyte will have their first line of defense against storm surge such as what happened during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 with the completion of the New Leyte Embankment Project.

The Heightened Road and Tide Embankment (HRTE) Project is a P7.9-billion infrastructure project of the Department of Works and Highways (DPWH) involving the construction of a four-meter-high seawall structure with concrete pavement, railings, ramps, and street lights.
