GENDER MAINSTREAMING

Gender Mainstreaming

  • Acknowledgement at the Fourth World Conference on Women (Bijing Conference) 1995 as a method of entrenching the GAD approach.

  • Goal of gender mainstreaming is to achieve gender equality in all fields of society.

It seeks to identify men's and women's development issues and needs, as well as development, through planning,
implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development policies and measures and projects, on the premise
that all development policies, measure, and projects have different impacts on men and women.

New Challenges for Gender Mainstreaming

  • Introduce project monitoring and evaluation methods complemented from gender point
(gender responsive PCM, gender analysis, etc).

  • Integrate various gender activities into implementation process of as many projects as possible.

  • Continue to find and formulate new projects which directly contribute to promote gender equality of the society.
