DPWH Unveils First Mural, Integrity Landmark

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) unveiled its first mural and integrity landmark depicting the history and transformation of the Agency through the years, on June 23, at Roxas, Isabela.

Aiming to inspire the public and young generation of DPWH employees, the public art project which was inaugurated during DPWH’s 117th anniversary celebration took more than two months of planning, designing and carving.

Kennon Road Closed to Traffic as Landslide Occurs

Kennon Road in the Cordillera Administrative Region was closed to vehicular traffic following the occurrence of landslide at K0242+600, Camp 7.

A passenger jeepney and a van were buried under the landslide early Monday morning, July 13, 2015 along Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet that resulted to one (1) death and injuries to five (5) other persons.

Following the slide, the Department of Public Works and Highways closed the 32-kilometers Kennon Road as it clears debris on the highway.

"Falcon" Update: MNR-Bulacan Section Not Passable to Light Vehicles: 3 Roads in CAR Closed

Four roads in Region 3 and Cordillera Administrative Region are now closed to traffic, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bureau of Maintenance.

As of 5:00 p.m., July 10, 2015, Friday, BOM reported that the SM Section (K0021+000) of Manila North Road in Marilao, Bulacan was closed to light vehicles due to flooding while the following roads in CAR are still impassable due to reoccurrence of landslide, rockslide and mudslide:

BENGUET

1. Baguio-Bua-Itogon Road, K0261+330, Sitio Goldfield, Poblacion, Itogon; and

Farm to Market Road Project Unveiled

Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Virgilio Delos Reyes (third from right), DPWH XI Regional Director Mariano R. Alquiza (first from right), DAR XI Regional Director John Maruhom, Vice Gov. Manuel Zamora and Montevista LGU Officials gathered in Brgy. Linoan for the turn over ceremonies of the Banag-Banag Farm to Market Road. A product of DAR-DPWH Inter-agency Convergence, the project will greatly benefit the Agrarian Reform Community in Compostella Valley.

Road Safety Devices

DPWH Albay 1st District Engineering Office has completed the installation, application and construction of road safety devices at KO577+500 to KO579+000 and KO580+000 to KO581+000 (with exceptions) of DM Jct. Legazpi-Sto.Domingo- Tabaco-Tiwi-Camarines Sur Bdry. Road, Tiwi, Albay

Costing P6.360 Milliion, the project which was started on December 1, 2014 was completed on January 10, 2015.

Scope of work includes the installation of guardrails and pavement markings for the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

"Falcon" Report: 2 Roads in CAR Closed as of 12 NN Thursday

Heavy rain brought by Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Falcon has further caused landslides, rockslides and mudflow along national roads, making two (2) roads in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) impassable.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bureau of Maintenance, as of 12 noon, July 9, 2015, Wednesday, the following roads are closed to traffic:

BENGUET

1. Gurel-Bokod-Kabayan-Buguias-Abatan Road

  a) K0340+451-K0340+550 Section, Sitio Bongis, Brgy. Gusaran;

  b) K0341+320, Bongis Section; and

"Egay" Update: 4 Roads Closed as of Wednesday 12 NN

As of 12 noon, July 8, 2015, Wednesday, four (4) major road sections in Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region are now impassable due to Tropical Storm “Egay” according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bureau of Maintenance.

Report shows continuous raining in Benguet Province has aggregated landslide with mudflow/boulders in three (3) sections, which include the Gurel-Bokod-Kabayan-Buguias-Abatan Road, K0341+320, Bongis Section and K0335+500-K0335+600, Gusaran Section and the landslide at K0262+000-K0262+050 Section of Shilan-Beckel Road.

"Egay Update: 2 Roads Still Impassable as of 12 NN

Two (2) road sections in Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are still closed to traffic due landslide and flooding brought by tropical storm “Egay”.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Bureau of Maintenance, as of 12:00 noon of July 7, 2015, Tuesday, the Gurel-Bokod-Kabayan Road, K0341+320, Bongis Section in Benguet and the Bangar-Luna Road, KM305+000 to KM306+000 Section in the province of La Union remain impassable due to landslide and flooding respectively.

"Egay" Update: 8 Roads Remain Impassable

Eight (8) road sections in Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are still closed to traffic due landslide and flooding brought by tropical storm “Egay”.
