Roads to Tourist Attractions in Antique Upgraded

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region VI has allocated a total amount of P310.509 Million for the upgrading of roads leading to various tourist sites in the province of Antique.

Works are on-going for the concreting of the existing 11.296-kilometer gravel road from Brgy. San Antonio to Brgy. Flores in Culasi town, Antique leading to Mt. Madia-as, which is known for waterfalls and mountain trekking.

Concreted and widened are a total of 4.1 kilometers of Balili-Suyo-Sagada Road that leads to famous Sagada caves, burial caves, museums, ancient villages, rice terraces, waterfalls and other tourist destinations in Mt. Province where nature and culture lovers can explore and appreciate.

RO-IX Engineers Completed Comprehensive Training for Provisional Accreditation

The Regional Office IX of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) successfully held its four (4) batches of 21-day training under the Comprehensive Training for Provisional Accreditation of Field Engineers program.

The new breed of engineers braved a series of extensive lectures, laboratory works, field inspection, group presentations, and on-the-job training on DPWH projects within the vicinity of Zamboanga City to improve further their competencies in their job.

DPWH Region II DEOs Conduct Drug Testing, Blood-Letting Activities

Four District Engineering Offices (DEOs) of the Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 02 heed the call of President Rodrigo R. Duterte on his campaign against drugs and criminality.

The Cagayan 2nd DEO, Cagayan 3rd DEO, Isabela 2nd DEO, and the Quirino DEO led by their District Engineers organized a drug test for the staff where all employees tested negative.

“I am happy that everybody got negative in the drug test. It is a sign that we are in the right direction,” District Engineer Reynato R. Ubina of the Isabela 2nd DEO, said.

“What was long been abandoned and devastated by World War II and typhoon “Cosme” in 2008 will soon be home of artifacts with significance to Pangasinan’s rich history and cultural heritages,” said DPWH Region 1 Director Danilo E. Dequito, pertaining to the historical Casa Real.

Deparment of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 10 Director Evelyn T. Barroso said a total of P53.4 million was spent for the concreting with grouted riprap lined canal of Sta. Maria Hoyohoy Road.
