Asphalt Overlay Enhances Transport in Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has implemented preventive road maintenance measures to improve movement of goods and services for motorists in the municipality of Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay.

In her report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Mindanao Operations Eugenio R. Pipo, Jr., DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia said that the project involved the asphalt overlay of a 2.9-lane kilometer road portion along Barangay La Victoria.

Rasuman said that the road safety improvement project which covers the installation of double rolling barriers on dangerous road curves of Luyang-Poo-Lazi Road, will help reduce or prevent the severity of accidents in the mountainous area.
