OPERATION, MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT OF KENNON ROAD AND MARCOS HIGHWAY

  • This project involves upgrading and improvement of the landslide prone sections of Kennon Road and Marcos Highway and operate as toll roads. Kennon Road has a length of 33.50 kms. While Marcos Highway has a length of 38.70 kms. Having a total combined length of 72.20 kms. These roads start at Rosario and Agoo, La Union respectively and both ends at Baguio City.

  • Official Notice to proceed (NTP) on the Consultancy Services was received by the Consultant on March 25, 2013.
  • The Consultancy will be carried out over a period of six (6) months, effective from April 02, 2013 to October 02, 2013.
  • Progress Report No. 4 submitted on September 2013
  • Cost Realignment No. 1 of Consultancy Services was approved on September 30, 2013
  • Financial and Economic Evaluation for the Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Kennon Road and Marcos Highway are completed and states that the project is economically feasible even when subjected to 20% increase in cost and 20% decrease in benefits.
  • Draft Final Report was submitted by J.F. Cancio and Associates on September 30, 2014 and transmitted by PPP Service to the PPP Center and DPWH Advisors for their comments.
  • PPP Center sent their comments via email regarding financial and economic analysis of the report on January 20, 2015.
  • On March 19, 2015 Letter from DPWH containing consolidated comments was sent to JF Cancio and Associates, likewise requiring the submission of the Final Report.
  • Final Report for the Conduct of Business Case Study was submitted on September 01, 2015 by J.F. Cancio and Associates.
  • Conducted meetings with BCDA for possible JICA or METI funding of the FS or Pre–FS. BCDA to send letter to Secretary Singson for the presentation of their proposal.
  • JFE Engineering requested a copy of the Business Case Study of the project through letter dated 04 January 2016 for their review in order to improve their proposal.
