
Engineer Yolanda Latonio Tangco earned her position as Assistant Regional Director after dedicating thirty-seven (37) long years of professional experience in various fields of civil engineering.
Her first employment in the Department was in 1981 at the then Ministry of Public Highways in Dagupan City.
In 1993, she became an accredited Project Engineer III in Region I, supervising various infrastructure projects in Ilocos Region. She headed the Region’s Project Monitoring System until 2003 and eventually became Chief of the Construction Division from 2004 until 2013.
She was appointed to serve as the Assistant Regional Director (ARD) of Region IV-A; as Officer-in-Charge in 2014 and on permanent status in 2016 until her transfer to Region IV-B (MIMAROPA) where she is expected to provide the leadership to further improve the performance of DPWH in the island provinces.
Engineer Tangco passed the CSC-DPWH Promotional Exam – Second Level in 2011 and subsequently obtained her Career Executive Service Eligibility in 2012.
She was rated as Outstanding in the Career Executive Service Performance Evaluation System (CESPES) for the year 2017 and 2018.
Seeing knowledge as a necessity to her career as a public servant, Engineer Tangco attended various leadership forums, seminars, and conferences locally and abroad.
Perceived as tough and strict when it comes to working ethics, ARD Tangco never lets a day gone by without giving words of encouragement and life’s success secrets to fellow DPWH workers.
Born in Nueva Ecija, ARD Yolanda L. Tangco completed her graduate course in Civil Engineering at the University of Pangasinan. She has been blessed with one lovely daughter.
