DPWH Completes Strengthening Works at Magallanes Interchange

Works to restore the structural integrity of the 41-year old Magallanes Interchange in Makati City has been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH-National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro said series of repair works were done in five (5) stages at the 1,809.50-lineal meter flyover to be able to strengthen the structure that has served as a junction between the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) since 1975.

1,164 New Classrooms for Region 2 Completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) built a total of 243 additional school buildings that now serve thousands of students in Cagayan Valley Region this school year.

DPWH Region 02 Director Melanio C. Briosos reported the completion of school building projects now used by Academic, Elementary, Junior and Senior High School students in the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.

CALAX Laguna Segment Breaks Ground June 19, 2017

Construction works for the 18-kilometer Laguna Section of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) will formally commence with a groundbreaking ceremony set today – June 19.

“The whole CALAX project which will have eight (8) interchanges and one (1) main toll barrier is expected to reduce travel time from CAVITEX to SLEX by 45 minutes,” Villar noted.

“The road construction project from Tirona Highway to the end of Greenfield near Mamplasan Exit, Laguna will be closely monitored so that by 2020, our travel time from CAVITEX to SLEX will be reduced to only 45 minutes,” he added.
