DPWH completes tourist road in Santol, La Union

Tourists can now explore more places in La Union as Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the recent completion of an access road leading to various tourist destinations in the Municipality of Santol.

Particularly known for its scenic spots, the town of Santol is home to natural destinations such as the Municipal Tree Park, Sasaba Rice Terraces, Bimmulalakaw and Pimmalangka Waterfalls, Native Tomb, and Amburayan River.

Clearing of drainage along Albuera, Leyte

With the onset of the rainy season, members of the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) – Leyte 4th Maintenance Team conducts clearing and cleaning of drainages all throughout the District.

Increased volume of debris that course through the drainages will lead to flooding, especially along national roads. As such, the maintenance team declogged and cleared the culvert situated along the highway in Brgy. Mahayag, Albuera, Leyte.

“Gamit Pang-Skwela, Hatid ay Saya” : A DELP and DPWH Nationwide Program

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO), headed by District Engineer Lino Francisco C. Gonzalez and Assistant District Engineer Irwin L. Antonio gave backpacks and school materials to Kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils in Camp Downes Elementary School, Ormoc City on June 14, Friday.

DPWH developed Binaliw road

Body: 

Samar First District Engineering Office completes the construction of a 2-lane road at Barangay Binaliw, Calbayog City.

The road with a total length of 1 kilometer and 6 meters width is being enjoyed by more than 447 households living in Barangay Binaliw. A drainage of 1,320 meters is also integrated in the road project with an appropriation of P35-million from the General Appropriations Act of 2018.

Leyte school teachers await school opening with new classrooms

Teachers of Hibunauan National High School (NHS) in Burauen, Leyte await school opening with more classrooms, as the Department of Public Works Highways (DPWH) Leyte second district engineering office has recently completed its school building project here.

According to Bryan Colilihan, school head of Hibunauan NHS, teachers have been preparing to occupy the new school facility intended for Grade 10 students under the general academic strand. A total of 560 students are enrolled for the opening of the new school year.

DPWH ESDEO joins Brigada Eskwela in Hernani, E. Samar

Department of Public Works and Highways Eastern Samar District Engineering Office (DPWH ESDEO) joined the teachers and staff of Pedro E. Candido Memorial National High School in Brigada Eskwela in Hernani, Eastern Samar on May 20-21, 2019

According to the school principal Noime Villarino, DPWH was a great help in their Brigada Eskwela particularly in painting the classrooms, cutting of grasses and other maintenance works.

DPWH Eastern Samar DEO resumes “Oplan Baklas”

On May 9, 2019, five days before the national midterm election, DPWH together with the COMELEC and PNP resumed the “Oplan Baklas” in the whole province and removed campaign posters along national higways which located at undesignated areas and with illegal sizes.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) led the activity, assisted by DPWH field personnel for additional manpower on the operation and Philippine National Police (PNP) for the security.

DPWH completes high-rise classrooms in Dagami, Leyte

Body: 

The Department of Public Works and Highways Leyte second district engineering office has recently completed the construction of a high-rise six-classroom school building at Patoc National High School (NHS) in this town.

According to Gerald Pacanan, the governemnt allocated a total of P12.9 million for this project, built in strict compliance to the standards and specifications of the Department of Education and DPWH.

Construction of P46-M high-rise school building in Liloan, So. Leyte underway

Body: 

The construction of multi-million high-rise school building in Liloan National Technical Vocational High School is now up and running in a bid to address shortage of classrooms in Liloan, Southern Leyte, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) field office here reported.

The 3-storey school building currently being constructed will have 15 classrooms equip with comfort rooms, emergency exits, and fire protection facilities. It has an allocation of P46 million funded under last year’s Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) of the Department of Education.
