Four District Engineering Offices (DEOs) of the Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 02 heed the call of President Rodrigo R. Duterte on his campaign against drugs and criminality.
The Cagayan 2nd DEO, Cagayan 3rd DEO, Isabela 2nd DEO, and the Quirino DEO led by their District Engineers organized a drug test for the staff where all employees tested negative.
“I am happy that everybody got negative in the drug test. It is a sign that we are in the right direction,” District Engineer Reynato R. Ubina of the Isabela 2nd DEO, said.
Also, District Engineer Lorna B. Asuten of the Cagayan 2nd DEO stressed that the negative result manifests their cooperation in mitigating illegal drugs dependency.
In conjunction with the drug test, a blood-letting activity was also initiated.
“The department, aside from fulfilling its mandate of building hospitals and health centers, also extends its assistance through simple causes like this blood-letting drive.
“We are honored for being a part of this mission. We are hopeful to expand this activity even outside the DPWH workforce,” District Engineer Marifel T. Andes of the Quirino DEO, said.
Both undertakings are supported by the District Engineers League of the Philippines (DELP) and simultaneously conducted nationwide recently.
