Students of San Mateo Elementary School in Sulat, Eastern Samar will no longer attend classes in a makeshift classroom with the completion two (2) newly-constructed classrooms by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
DPWH-Eastern Samar District Engineer Manolo A. Rojas reported that the DPWH in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), has completed the 2-classroom school building with a total budget allotment of P2.7-million.
“The additional school building was constructed to address the classroom shortage in San Mateo Elementary School that offers classes from kindergarten up to Grade VI,” said Engineer Rojas.
“This single-storey building with two (2) classrooms could accommodate up to 80 students. It is equipped with necessary facilities to provide students a more suitable learning environment,” added Engineer Rojas.
