Samar 1 still No.1 in Quality Assurance Nationwide
Out of 234 District Engineering Offices nationwide, the Department of Public Works and Highways–Samar First District Engineering Office (DPWH-SFDEO) maintains its Rank 1 standing in the implementation of quality control.
The annual rating of quality assurance implementation for 2016 reveals Samar 1 to be still on top besting other District Engineering Offices nationwide.
3rd LED Turns Over Municipal Building to Leyte Town
The entire municipal building of Leyte was one of the structures which was severely damaged by super typhoon Yolanda when it hit the region in November 8, 2013.
Funds amounting to P42M were allotted to the Department of Public Works and Highways Leyte 3rd Engineering District Office by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Recovery Assistance for Yolanda (RAY) program for immediate reconstruction of the said building.
DPWH-Biliran DEO CY 2017 Regular Infra Projects now in full swing
The Department of Public Works and Highways –Biliran District Engineering Office (DPWH-BDEO) has started implementation of its CY 2017 Regular Infrastructure projects. With over 940M projects to complete this year, this district office is up for the challenge.
As of March 2017, 12 projects out of 52 projects below P50M are already on its full swing. Among these projects are repair of six (6) bridges and extension of two (2) flood control structures.
DOT-DPWH Enhances Road Access to Lintaon Peak
The Department of Tourism (DOT) and the DPWH 5th District Engineering Office is enhancing road access to one of Baybay’s tourism desti-nations, the Lintaon Peak. The project is Construction/Improvement of Access Roads Leading to Declared Tourism Destinations Junction National Road to Lintaon Road Leading to Lintaon Peak, Baybay City, Leyte 5th LED.
DPWH RO 8 Supports Asean Launching in Eastern Visayas

JICA Turns over to DPWH and DepEd 7 Reconstructed Elementary School Buildings
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) turns over seven (7) reconstructed school buildings as well as their corresponding documents and spare parts reserved for plumbing and electricity to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Education (DepEd) in April 10, 2016 at the DPWH Regional Office 8 Baras, Palo, Leyte.
