DPWH Responds to 5.1-Magnitude Earthquake Aftershock

A month and a half after the 6.5-magnitude earthquake that struck the province of Leyte last July 6, 2017, another magnitude 5.1 aftershock hit the area at around 6:26 AM on Wednesday, August 23, 2015. Trauma was yet again experienced by the citizens. From the statement of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the said earthquake was Talisayan, Albuera, Leyte, an area near the previous epicenter—Ormoc.

SAMAKANA: Helping children, changing lives

For the third year running, the Samahan ng mga Kawaning Nagkakaisa (SAMAKANA) brought joy to fifty-one (51) school children of Mainit Elementary School in Laur, Nueva Ecija through the Sagip-Eskwela Project on July 18, 2017.

SAMAKANA President Marlon G. Hernandez expressed his enthusiasm on the support of the District employees as well as the office stakeholders on the project.

Cash donations received by the employee’s union was used to purchase t-shirts, slippers and school supplies.

2nd NEDEO Sets to Construct, Rehab and Widen 14 Bridges along National Roads in 3rd and 4th LD

Scheduled to be implemented in 2017 are sixteen (16) projects that include the construction, rehabilitation and retrofitting and widening of permanent bridges to more than two (2) lanes at the 3rd and 4th legislative districts of Nueva Ecija.

These projects amounting to P537,573,000 are seen to greatly improve the ease in travel of motorists plying the province’s major highways.

DPWH Marks Halfway Completion of Tagoloan Flood Control

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now halfway complete with the construction of 642-meter flood control dike in Tagoloan River in the town of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

The Tagoloan River Sub-Project – Stage 1, which is being implemented by the Unified Project Management Office-Flood Control Management Cluster (UPMO-FCMC), will soon be functional to help strengthen the capability in disaster risk management of areas within and near the said river.

DPWH Completes 3-Storey CES Board Resource Building

The Career Executive Service Board (CESB) has a new Resource Center Building that can accommodate more examinees and assessment personnel.

Department of Public Works and Highways National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) Director Melvin B. Navarro said that P21 million was spent to implement the 3-storey building project located at No. 3 Marcelino Street., Holy Spirit Drive, Diliman, Quezon City.

The project aims help to save rental cost for the holding of examinations for managerial career positions in government service.
