DPWH opens 2 Iloilo Projects
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) formally inaugurated on Saturday, August 26, 2017 two (2) infrastructure development projects in Iloilo City.
The infrastructure projects includes the completion of Esplanade 1 Extension and Nabitasan-San Rafael Bypass Road in the amount of P40.2 million and P134.9 million, respectively.

UPDATE: Full closure of Adriatico Bridge effective 7:30 pm Monday
As of 7:30 pm on Monday, September 11, 2017, the Adriatico Bridge (reinforced box culvert) in Malate, Manila was once again closed to traffic due to new cracks on its deck slab.
The box culvert that was reopened earlier at 2:30 pm sustained cracks, originating from the 4-meter initial damage, according to DPWH-National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro.
"To ensure public safety, we decided to close the bridge until we fix these cracks," added Director Navarro
DPWH reopens lane of collapsed Adriatico Bridge to light vehicles
The damaged bridge (reinforced box culvert) along Adriatico Street between Quirino Avenue and Pablo Ocampo Street (old Vito Cruz) in Malate, Manila was reopened to light vehicles on Monday, September 11, 2017.
This was announced by DPWH National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro, who cited that one (1) out of the four (4) lanes of the box culvert which collapsed on Friday, September 8, 2017 due to a parked overloaded garbage truck, is now safe for light vehicle use.
DPWH Reconstitutes National Building Code Review Committee
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently reconstituted the National Building Code Review Committee (NBCRC) to further strengthen the implementation of the National Building Code of the Philippines (NBCP) and its implementing rules and regulations (IRR).
The National Building Code, also known as Presidential Decree No. 1096, is a government policy covering technical requirements in constructing or renovating buildings and structures in the Philippines to secure the life, health, property and welfare of the Filipinos.
