Undersecretary Alfredo G. Tolentino have overall supervision and control over the Legislative Liaison Office, all projects implemented by PMO-URPO, and all infrastructure projects to be implemented by DPWH but funded under the budget of various line agencies, i.e., farm to market roads, school buildings and health centers. In addition, Engr. Tolentino shall act as Coordinator of the SLEX-NLEX Connector Road Project.

Behind the struggles and challenges he meets in his profession, Undersecretary Alfredo Guzman Tolentino places his untiring commitment in contributing to the realization of the goals and objectives of the DPWH.

Undersecretary Tolentino started his public service career in 1971 as Civil Engineering Aide at the Bureau of Design after completing his engineering course from the National University.

In 1973, he moved to Southern Tagalog Regional Office (Region IV-A) as CE Aide II, then rose to the rank of Associate Civil Engineer, Senior Civil Engineer, Supervising Civil Engineer, Engineer III, Engineer IV and Engineer V.

His exemplary performance and effective leadership was recognized by top management as he steadily rise to OIC-Assistant Regional Director in 1997, OIC-District Engineer of Laguna Engineering District in 1998, Assistant Regional Director of Region IV-A in 2000, then as Regional Director of Region III in 2001 Regional Director of Region IV-B in 2003, until he was shifted back to Region III where he led the accelerated implementation of priority development projects that spur development in Central Luzon. In April 2011, he was promoted to Assistant Secretary position in-charge of Luzon operations until his appointment in June 2012 to Undersecretary position.

His organizational affiliation includes membership at the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE).

He was born on August 28, 1949 in Pulilan, Bulacan.
