  Undersecretary Ramon P. Aquino

Profile

"FAST TRACKER" and "WORK BUFF". These are the 2 monickers Undersecretary Ramon Padua Aquino has gained as one of the most effective engineers the Department of Public Works and Highways has ever produced.

The road to his career path was not as smooth as one would surmise. Young Aquino, carved his own niche in the civil engineering profession through sheer guts, perseverance, intelligence and good public relations. During his college days, he was a daily fixture in his uncle's office in Port Area, Manila where he was exposed to the rigors of office management and quietly learned the ropes of government and public service.

Through the years, he matured into an effective manager and conscientious leader. Soon enough, he earned the respect of his employees, his peers, and even his superiors, because of the principles he had upheld - public service, leadership by example, diplomacy and dedication to duty. He established a work ethics only a public servant of his caliber can live up to.

Undersecretary Aquino was born in San Fernando, La Union on September 29, 1954 to Mariano Aquino and Luisa Padua. He is a product of Dominican School (elementary, 1961-67); Royal Carpenter Academy (secondary, 1967-71) graduating 4th honors; and University of the East (tertiary, 1971-77) with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE). In 1989, he pursued his Masteral Science degree in Construction Management.

He passed his Civil Engineers Licensure Examination in Manila on November, 1977. In July, 1999, he was conferred the Career Executive Service Officer Rank IV.

He is married to Dr. Teresita O. Aquino, a Fellow in Pulmonology and Bronchoscopy. Their marriage is blessed with four (4) children: Teresita Angelica, Terese Camille, Terese Monette and Terese Ray-Anne.
