Director Alquiza brought to his position 32 years of work experience as a licensed civil engineer.  He has been serving as full-fledged Regional Director since 2005.  Before that, he served as OIC-Regional Director for two years and as Assistant Regional Director for three years.

 

During his term, he resolved the problem of right-of-way in the Cordillera Administrative Region.  With his constant monitoring, the long delayed construction of Sinalang Bridge was finally finished.  When he was District Engineer of Digos, Davao del Sur, he was cited as one of the Ten Outstanding Public Servants (TOPS) in Region XI by the Civil Service Commission, Region XI.

 

He is presently holding an official status the designation as Chairman of the Regional Development Council-Infrastructure Committee; President of the Cordillera Association of Regional Executive (CARE); National Board of Director and Secretary of the Road Engineering Association of the Philippines (REAP); Business Manager of the Directors’ League of the Philippines (DLP); and Vice-President for Luzon of the National Union of Career Executives.

 

He has attended numerous trainings and conventions that improved his skills as a key official of the department, namely the International Advanced Training Course on Road, Bridge and Tunnel Construction and Management for Managerial Staff in 1996 at Belgium; PICE National Convention in June 2007; Gabay in August 2002 by CESB, Manila; DIWA in August 2001 by CESB, Cagayan de Oro City; and SALAMIN by CESB Batangas City.  

 

Engr. Alquiza has finished his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree in 1974 at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City and has taken his MBA in 1986 and Advance Engineering Mathematics in 1986 at the University of Southeastern Philippines. He also took up International Advance Training Course on Roads and Bridges in 1996 at the Belgian Road Research Center in Belgium.

 

Born on September 25, 1952 at Kiamba, Sarangani Province, Engr. Alquiza is married to Luz Materna Dancel and blessed with one son, Marc Ferdinand.
