Director
Osop Ali started to work at the DPWH as Civil Engineering Aide II
at the then Bureau of Public Highways (BPH) at Lanao Norte in
1970 and promoted as Supervising Civil Engineer II at BPH 12th
Regional Office in Cotabato City in 1979. In 1982 he was
assigned as the Assistant District Engineer II at the
Maguindanao Engineering District and became a full pledged
District Engineer in 1993.
Equipped
with technical and management expertise especially in field
operation, Director Ali was then assigned as OIC-Assistant
Regional Director from January 2002 to May 2005 at the DPWH
Region XII Office and May 2005 to November 2005 at the DPWH
Region X Office in Cagayan De Oro City and promoted as the
Regional Director of Region XII on November 14, 2005.
Known
for his expertise in construction management, among the
trainings and seminars that he attended are the
Program of Executive Course conducted by the
Development Academy of the Philippines in 1977, Highway
Maintenance Management in 1983,
Training Course in Construction Management conducted by
UNDP/UNIDO in 1988, Managing Development in the Countryside
also facilitated by the Development Academy of the Philippines
in 1991 and Competency Base economic Formation for Enterprises
conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry in 1996.
Director
Ali, one of the engineering experts in Mindanao is an active
member of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers and DPWH
Directors League of the Philippines (DLP).
Director
Ali obtained his B.S. Civil Engineering at the Manuel L.
Quezon University in 1970 and passed the Civil Engineering
Board Exam in 1972.
He
is married to Irma U. Ali, Vice-Governor of
Lanao Del Norte (2007-2010) and blessed with five (5)
children namely, Irmalyn, Alykhan, Farrah, M’mad Yusoph and
Abdul Harris.
