Assistant Director Laureano B. Suan has devoted 34 long
fruitful years of his civil engineering profession mostly at
the Department of Public Work and Highways.His professional
experience is worth remembering since he has contributed a
lot to the acccomplisments of the department particularly at
NCR, Region IV-A and Region 8.
He
started as Structural Engineer at HANIL Devt. Co. Inc. in
July 1975 right after passing the Civil Engineering
Licensure Examination in February of the same year. From CE
Aide II at the Ormoc City Engineers Office in December 1975
to April 1976, he transferred to the DPWH Region IV-A in
September 1976.He also served as Supervising CE II and
Engineer III in the National Capital Region (NCR) up to
August 23, 2004. He was appointed District Engineer of Leyte
4th Engineering District in August 2004 until his much
awaited promotion as Assistant Regional Director of Region
8. He was transferred to NCR on August 17, 2009 as the
Assistant Regional Director of the Region.
As the
present Assistant Regional Director of DPWH Eastern Visayas,
Assistant Regional Director Suan assists Regional Director
Twaño in the administration of the region as well as its
district engineering offices.
Assistant Director Suan has numerous trainings and seminars
on engineering, traffic management and road maintenance -
Training on Concept of Networking & MS Outlook for Middle
Managers IN 2004; Seminars on Traffic Management in Metro
Manila IN 2003 conducted by the MMDA; Road Maintenance and
Repair of National Road in 1992; Supervisory Training
Course, etc.
At
present, Assistant Director Suan is an active member of the
Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), Road
Engineers Association of the Philippines (REAP), Association
of Government Civil Engineers (AGCE) and District Engineers
League of the Philippines (DELP).
Assistant Director Suan earned his Masters Degree in
Engineering Management at the Pamantasan Ng Lungsod Ng
Maynila (PLM) in year 2000 and is a graduate of Bachelor of
Science in Civil Engineering in 1974 at the Cebu Institute
of Technology (CIT).
He was
born on March 26, 1953 in Liloan, Ormoc City. He is married
to Elvira Estanislao, also an employee of the Department
assigned at Quezon City Sub-Engineering District. They are
blessed with three (3) children Jon Philip, Maria Yaselah
and Joel Jedrek. |
