DPWH REGION 11 TOPS 2 MAJOR AWARDS FOR 2009 |

 In recognition of their consistent outstanding performance in fast-tracking the implementation of quality infrastructure projects and obtaining the highest percentage of improvement with exemplary accomplishments in areas of construction, maintenance and quality control, DPWH Region 11 Office has topped the Construction Team of the Year and the Most Improved DPWH Regional Office of the Year awards for CY 2009.
In the recent celebration, DPWH Secretary Victor A. Domingo has commended DPWH Region 11 Director Osop L. Ali for effectively implementing the programmed DPWH pump priming and SONA projects.
Based on the monitoring report from the DPWH Bureau of Construction, out of the programmed P4.686 Billion worth of projects or a total of 252 projects in the region, 155 are completed, 56 are on-going, while 41 were not yet started, garnering a total of 79.39% accomplishment rating.
Director Ali also reported to Secretary Domingo that Region XI has accomplished 93.88% of all 97 pump priming projects worth P3.6 Billion.
Moreover, two major SONA Projects worth P3.3 Billion are now 99.58% complete.
The SONA Projects include the improvement/concreting of Kapalong-Talaingod-Valencia, Bukidnon Road and the improvement rehabilitation along the Surigao del Sur-Davao Oriental Coastal Road (Boston-Manay Section)
Connecting the Davao del Norte and Valencia Bukidnon with 53 kilometers is the first class highway, Talaingod-Valencia Bukidnon Road.
Meanwhile, the 87-kilometer Surigao del Sur-Davao Oriental Coastal Road will spark the tourism industry and enhance economic activities in its adjacent areas.
Domingo also instructed all the DPWH regional directors to give emphasis on target setting to be able to implement projects effectively.
“Based on the directive of Secretary Domingo, we had the cooperation of our staff and employees last year to immediately accomplish most of the programmed works. We also make constant coordination with the contractors and local government units to assure the immediate completion of projects” Ali said. |
