P 815 MILLION CAGAYAN DE ORO 3RD BRIDGE NEARS COMPLETION-DPWH |

 Included in the priority projects of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, considering its importance in the fast growing economy of Cagayan De Oro City, the Department of Public Works and Highways reported the near completion of the Cagayan De Oro 3rd Bridge and Access Road Project.
In his report to DPWH Secretary Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr., DPWH Region X Director Sinaolan T. Macarambon said that they have accomplished a total of 89.46% of the programmed works and is expected to be completed by end of November this year.
Macarambon said that this bridge project is vital to the economic activities in Cagayan De Oro City as it links the city port road in Puntod with the national highway in Opol, Misamis Oriental.
“ Upon its completion the agricultural communities in the two congressional districts of Cagayan De Oro and One in Misamis Oriental can immediately deliver their products to the market areas” Macarambon added. It also serves as access road going to the Cagayan De Oro Port.
The project involves the construction of a 352 linear meter long four lanes pre-stressed concrete bridge with eleven spans and concreting of 8.46 kilometers of four lanes road pavement along coastal route.
“ We are now completing some of the remaining works on the both approaches of the bridge project such as provision of lighting facilities and installation of additional bridge railings, if the good weather prevails we can complete the project by November this year “ Marambon also said. |
