OIC-Regional Director Ador G. Canlas started his career at the Department as a permanent Electrical Engineer in October 1985 at the then Ministry of Public Works and Highways, Pampanga District Office. In July 1988 he was promoted as Sr. Electrical Engineer at the DPWH-Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office, wherein he served as Engineer II for seven years and Administrative Officer III for nine years.

 

After completing his Civil Engineering degree at the Holy Angel Academy in 2001 and successfully passed the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination in 2004, he was appointed as Assistant District Engineer of Tarlac District Engineering Office in 2005. He transferred to Capiz 2nd District Engineering Office as OIC-District Engineer in 2007. After a year he was promoted as full-pledged District Engineer of Quirino Engineering District until his designation as Assistant Regional Director of Region II in January 2010, Assistant Director of Region III from September 2010 until he was appointed OIC-Regional Director for Central Visayas Region on April 2012 after topping the list of qualifiers for third level position during the 1st CSC-DPWH Promotional Examination held on October 1, 2011.

 

Director Canlas has attended numerous trainings and seminars to boost his credentials. These include the 2007 ASEAN Federation of Cement Manufacturers Concrete Road Symposium 2007 in Malaysia; Enhancing Management Leadership in support of DPWH Operations Planning by the Phil-Australian Human Resource Development Facility; Strat Plan; Change Agents Course; IT Training for DEs and ADEs (parts I & II); Training Seminar on Procurement Updates and Generic Manual (RA 9184) by the Department of Budget and Management in 2006; District Engineers Candidates Course in 2006; Effective & Efficient Administration Supply Management Programs Towards the Millennium by the National Government Administration; Short Course for Government Information Officers; to name a few.

 

He also attended the Civil Service Commission-sponsored seminars like the Supervisory Development Course, Tracks I to III; Maintaining a High Service Profile; Stress Management Seminar; and Counselor Course.

 

He is an active member of Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) and Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines Inc. He is the Vice President of the Federation of Pampanga/Jose Abad Santos High School Alumni Association and the Founding President of the JASHS Class 1980 Alumni Association.

 

He passed the Assistant Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination in 1985 after finishing his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree in 1984 from the Mapua Institute of Technology. He completed his Master in Management from the University of the Philippines in 1995. He obtained his Career Service Executive Eligibility in June 2003.

 

Director Canlas was born on July 22, 1963 in San Fernando, Pampanga. He is married to Ruby Herrera, also a DPWH-employee at the Regional Office No. III. They are blessed with three children namely Rizzia Anne, Rozz Armelie and Adrian Ron.
