Engr. Juby Cordon has been practicing her civil
engineering profession for twenty-five years now. She was
employed as casual Civil Engineering Aide at the Capiz
Engineering District of the then Ministry of Public Works and
Highways, then with luck at her side, she easily got a
permanent civil engineer position at the Regional Office VI.
She served the regional office for nineteen years until she
returned to Capiz DEO as District Engineer. She is currently
the OIC- Assistant Regional Director of the DPWH-Region 6.

Cordon has attended numerous trainings and seminars sponsored
by various agencies and institutions like District Engineer
Candidates Training Course, Seminar on EHEM! AHA! by the
Ombudsman Visayas, Country Focused Training Course on Road Engineering by the
Japan International Cooperation Agency and various conventions
conducted by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers and
the Road Engineers Association of the Philippines.
In
addition to her services to the government, she has been
serving the Rotary Club of Roxas since 2006. Engr. Cordon’s
rich experience in her chosen field has earned recognition
from various agencies and institutions. Her awards and
distinctions include Commendation and Recognition as Resource
Speaker by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Most
Outstanding Performer by Infrastructure Development Committee
Region VI in 2005; Most Outstanding District Engineer –
Region VI for 2006; and District Engineer of the Year for
Region VI in 2007.
Engr.
Cordon’s brilliance showed
early during her elementary
and high school days by graduating with Honors and
Salutatorian in 1974 and 1978, respectively. She then entered
college at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas
and eventually graduated with the degree of Bachelor of
Science in Civil Engineering from the University of San
Agustin in 1983. In that same year, she passed the Civil
Engineers Licensure Examination with an 85.40% rating. She
completed her Academic requirements leading to the degree of
Master in Public Administration in 1999. She got a rating of
86.54% in the promotional examination given by the DPWH and
Civil Service Commission in 1994. She was conferred with
Career Service Executive Eligibility in January 2006.
She
was born on November 25, 1961 in Roxas City. She is married to
Joebert Cordon, also a civil engineer and they are blessed
with children.
