Director
Mamitag’s stint at the Department of Public Works and Highways
(DPWH) has been almost thirty
(30) years starting as a casual CE Aide I in March 1976 of the
then Bureau of Public Works.
In
September 1986 to January 1989, he tried practicing his
engineering profession outside the government. Upon his return
from private practice, he served the Bureau of Research and
Standards handling various positions for almost fourteen years
until his appointment as OIC Bureau Director in September 2001.
Region III and KAMANAVA-PMO were also lucky to have him as their
Director in October 2001 to July 2003 and August 2003 to July
2004, respectively.
He
is the present Bureau Director of the Bureau of Maintenance since
his appointment in July 2004, a position he truly deserves since
he was the agency’s frontliner especially in maintenance
operation of national roads and bridges during and after
calamities and disasters.
Director
Mamitag has attended numerous trainings and seminars to boost his
credentials. These include the trainings sponsored by foreign
grants like Feasibility Study on Construction and Improvement of
Selected National Roads Project conducted by the Korean
International Cooperation Agency in Seoul, Korea in August 2007;
Study Tour Best Practices in Quality Control Assurance and Road
Maintenance in USA conducted by the World bank in March 2007;
Executive Seminar on Public Works Research and Development
conducted by JICA in Japan in October-November 1994; Optical
Standards for Design, Construction and Maintenance of Roads
conducted by UNESCAP in Indonesia in January-February 1990; and
Water Supply Engineering by JICA in Japan in 1983. Also the good
Director did not miss local trainings/seminars/ workshops on
Bridge Maintenance; Design, Construction and Maintenance of Roads;
Water Supply Engineering; Reorientation Course for Project
Managers to name a few.
Director
Mamitag obtained his Career Executive Service Officer Rank IV in
July 1998. He passed the DPWH Promotional Examination in 1994. He
completed his 36 units of Master in Public Administration from Our
Lady of Fatima University in 1997.
He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering (BSCE) in 1977 and Bachelor of Science in Sanitary
Engineering (BSSE) in
1980 from Feati University and National University, respectively.

Mamitag was born on October 28, 1955 in Lingayen, Pangasinan. He
is married to Maria Nita Trinidad, also a Civil Engineer to whom
he has only one (1) daughter Beverly Lou.
