DPWH SOUTHERN TAGALOG OFFICE COMPLETED 188 SCHOOL BUILDING

 In preparation for the next school year, the Department of Public Works and Highways in Southern Tagalog Region has completed a total of 188 school building projects.
DPWH Secretary Victor Domingo said that CALABARZON Area is one of the typhoon affected regions last year with numerous damaged school building structures that’s why during the last quarter of the previous year he instructed all the field engineers to speed up the implementation of on-going school building projects in the area.
DPWH Region 4-A has received a total of P161 Million for the implementation of 194 school building projects. Two of which are still on-going while four are in pre-construction phase.
Meanwhile, for CY 2009 programmed P6.8 Billion worth of projects, DPWH Region 4-A has completed a total of 677 various infrastructure projects. Topping the list of district engineering offices with the most completed project is DPWH Quezon 4th District Engineering Office which completed a total of 113 projects, followed by Batangas 2nd District Engineering Office with 105 completed projects.
In line with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s Job Generation Program, the DPWH Region 4-A has also generated a total of 36,391 employment opportunities among the local residents in the area.
With these outstanding accomplishments and for being the best in Regional Quality Control and Regional Maintenance Category Ranking, DPWH Region 4-A Director Bonifacio Seguit is also awarded as the Best DPWH Regional Director for CY2009. |
