On
July 2007, Director Veniedo O. Reyes became a full-fledged Regional
Director of IV-B. Before
that, he served as OIC-Regional Director for five months,
Assistant Regional Director for eight years and OIC-Regional
Director of Region V for seven months.
He
brought to his position 26 years of work experience as a
licensed civil engineer, half of which he devoted his service
to the Special Buildings Project Management Office as Engineer
and Project Manager. His
first stint in the then Department of Public Highways was in
1976 when he was a General Construction Foreman.
When
he was ARD for Construction Operations, road
rehabilitation, road concreting, flood control and drainage,
multi-purpose buildings, school buildings and water supply
have accelerated in Palawan 3rd District, both completed and
on-going. It was
also when he was an ARD that the Palawan North Road was
inaugurated.
Director
Reyes is a proud delegate of the department in the 21st World
Road Congress and “The Road Ahead” Singapore by the Road
Engineering Association of Asia and Australia in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia and the First International Civil Engineering
Conference in Asia entitled “Asia Infrastructure Sustainable
Development and Project Management” by the PICE, AMSE and
JSCE. He was
given a big break when he attended the Special Education
Course for the Civil and Architectural Engineers from 24
nations by the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of
Korea and Korean Overseas Construction Association and the
First Asian Pacific Conference on Urban Reconstruction in
Taipei, Taiwan.
He
finished his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1975
at the Adamson University.
Director
Reyes was born on July 14, 1949 at Mabitac, Laguna.
He is married to Gaudalia Manahan Reyes and is blessed
with children Imeen, Bernard, Ma. Adeinev, Josef Veniedo, and
Veniedo II.
