Engineer Bernardo’s
promotion
as Assistant Regional Director of Region IV-A is a
most welcomed reward for his remarkable service to the
department.
Before his
promotion to ARD position, he has successfully led the
Laguna Second District Engineering Office as its District
Engineer for eight years since 2002 and Assistant District
Engineer for almost a year.
He entered
government service as temporary Civil Engineering Aide II at
the DPWH Oriental Mindoro Engineering District in October
1986 and barely three months after; he transferred to Laguna
Engineering District and was promoted as Associate Civil
Engineer then Civil Engineer and was again promoted to
Engineer III position in July 1989. He moved to the First &
Second Congressional Districts of Laguna as Acting Chief of
Planning & Design Section from April 1997 to June 2001.
ARD
Bernardo
started to show his innate intelligence as a consistent
honor and outstanding student from elementary to secondary
level. He finished his Masters degree in Business Management
(MBM) from the Saint Francis of Assisi College in 1999 and
his Civil Engineering degree from the Mapua Institute of
Technology in 1984. He also has 6 units of MS Math from the
University of the Philippines.
He was conferred as Career Executive Officer
VI in 2002. He successfully passed the licensure exams for
civil engineers in 1984, Civil Service DPWH Examination in
1994.
ARD
Bernardo has attended trainings and seminars to boost his
credentials like Comprehensive Training for District
Engineers, Premium-M Minute Project Accounting and
Management conducted by the DILG; Seminar on Gender and
Developoment; Materials Testing Quality Control; Hazard
Control Management and Sewage and Sewerage Dispossal, both
conducted by the World Safety Organization. He also has 60
hours training of Computer Aided Project Management from the
Dataware Computer Corporation.
He is an
active member of the District Engineers’ League of the
Philippines wherein he is serving as Vice President for
Region IV-A Chapter from 2002 to 2010; Philippine Institute
of the Philippines; and Safety Organization of the
Philippines.
He was
born on August 7, 1963 in Malolos, Bulacan. He is married to
Nimia Miguel and they are blessed with 4 children namely
Raphael Earven, Reuter King, Robert Niño and Sunshine. |
