PLARIDEL BY-PASS ROAD WILL BE COMPLETED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE- DPWH

  Because of the long dry season, the new road network connecting the Manila North Road and Daang Maharlika Highway or Cagayan Valley Road will be completed ahead of schedule as assured by the Department of Public Works and Highways. DPWH Secretary Victor Domingo said that the Plaridel Bypass Road project is now 50.8 percent complete, ahead of 26 percent compared to its scheduled accomplishement rating. “Upon its completion, this new road project will provide a more convenient alternate route for motorists going to Cagayan Valley Region and Central Luzon and vice versa passing through the North Luzon Expressway” Domingo said. The project involves the construction of 6.8 kilometers of bypass road which started from the Burol Flyover along North Luzon Expressway and a new interchange ramp traversing northwestern direction passing through the municipalities of Balagtas, Guiginto and Plaridel in Bulacan. The project also includes the construction slope protection works, drainage facilities and installation of road safety devices. This P 1.5 Billion road project is jointly funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Government of the Philippines. DPWH Philippine Japan Highway Loan Project Director Maximo Carvajal said that with the progress of work, instead of completing the project on May next year, the project is expected to be completed by March 2011.

DPWH STARTS CONSTRUCTION OF VITAL AGRI ROAD LINK IN CENTRAL LUZON

  Because of its importance in Central Luzon agricultural industry, the Department of Public Works and Highways started the construction of Pantabangan - Canili Road Project in Nueva Ecija. The project involves the construction of 31.3 kilometers of road, four new bridges, improvement of drainage system and slope protection works and repair of one bridge. DPWH Secretary Victor Domingo said that this road improvement project aims to speed up travel time from Nueva Ecija to Nueva Vizcaya via Aurora from 3 hours to an hour and a half. “ Nueva Ecija is the gateway of agricultural industry in the Cagayan Valley Region, creating more alternative road links leading to its major agricultural communities will increase the potential of investment opportunities and improve the profit of the local farmers” Domingo said. DPWH Philippine Japan Highway Loan Project Director Maximo Carvajal said that this P579 Million road project is now 34 percent complete, ahead of 18.5 percent compared to its scheduled accomplishement rating. “ With the good progress of work, we are targeting to complete the project on or before March next year” Carvajal said.
