Early
in life, Assistant Director Melanio Briosos showed the making
of a brilliant public servant.
In his youth, he finished his elementary and secondary
schooling with honors as Class Salutatorian.
After
completing his high school at Nueva Vizcaya General
Comprehensive High School in 1971, he pursued his Bachelor of
Science in Civil Engineering at St. Mary’s College and went
straight to public service with his employment as Civil
Engineer Aide 2 in June 1976 at the Bureau of Design.
In
November 1976, he moved to the DPWH Nueva Vizcaya Engineering
District where he became permanent employee in June 1978.
In June 1979, he transferred to the Regional Office in
Tuguegarao where he honed his skills to various civil
engineering aspects of planning, design, construction and
maintenance.
Focused
on acquiring for himself further education and knowledge to
aid him in his desire to pursue better public service, he
completed his Masters in Public Administration in 2000 and
completed 18 units of academic requirements for Doctorate in
Public Administration both at the University of St. Louis
Tuguegarao. In
June 2001, he passed the Career Service Executive Eligibility
Examination.
His
desire to learn and dedication to service was rewarded with
his promotion to Engineer V position as Regional Construction
Chief in August 2003 and later named as OIC-Assistant Regional
Director.
Even
with his hands full, he takes time to participates in
trainings and seminars such as: Microsoft Office Applications
for Executives, Seminar on RA 9184 and its IRR, Nationwide
Comprehensive DPWH Field Engineers Training Course, Design and
Construction of Bridges and the National Building Code,
Geo-technical Engineering, River Engineering and Sabo Works,
and Labor-based Methods of Construction and Maintenance in the
infrastructures for trainors/site supervisors.
Born
on July 25, 1954 in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, Assistant
Director Melanio Catolico Briosos is married to Marites Bacsa
and is blessed with four (4) children namely Julius, Redentor,
Bryan, and Harold.
